Welcome to Ysgol Clocaenog |
Welcome to our website
Ysgol Clocaenog is a small rural school situated in the village of Clocaenog in the Vale of Clwyd. Children come here from the villages of Clocaenog, Clawdd Newydd, Derwen and the surrounding areas.
The school’s ethos is shaped by working towards Care, Consideration and Respect being shown between pupils, staff and the wider community. The atmosphere here is welcoming and friendly and thoughtful provision is made for each child’s all-round development.
Ysgol Clocaenog is a natural Welsh school where Welsh is the medium of education. Children from Welsh speaking, bilingual and English medium homes are able to benefit from the advantages of speaking two languages fluently and are able to integrate fully into the two cultures.
There is an opportunity for children to take part in extra-curricular activities, notably, the Urdd and Dragon Sport clubs and the pupils have the opportunity to mix with children from neighbouring schools during events such as football tournaments, swimming galas, area sports day, a residential course at Glan Llyn and Urdd competitions. This ensures that our children become friends with children from other schools before they move to Brynhyfryd Secondary School.

The 50 Club remains one of the most effective ways of raising funds for
the school. Each year the 50 Club donates a lump sum to the Friends of the
School, who use the money to provide facilities and equipment, which are beyond
the means of the school budget, but which are considered essential to support
the school and to advance the education of the children.
How the 50 Club works:
- Each member pays
£40 per year, payable in full or by monthly standing order.
- 10 monthly draws
are held during the academic year, from October to July.
- The prizes for
each draw are:
- First prize £50
- Second prize £30
- Third prize £20.
- There is also a
Jackpot Draw in July with a single prize of £200.
- After the payment
of prizes, all proceeds are donated to the the Friends to further improve the education of our children.
How to join the 50 Club:
- Download the application form and return it to me care of the school, and enclose a cheque
for £40 payable to "Ysgol Clocaenog 50 Club",
- Please do this
as soon as possible, in time for the first draw at the end of October
Not only does membership of the 50 Club directly benefit the children
of our community, but it also provides a good chance of winning a prize!! So please join today, and encourage your
family, friends and neighbours to do the same!
Thank you for your support.
